DETAILS
Chef-owner Ford Fry (JCT Kitchen & Bar, The Optimist) has another hit on his hands with Buckhead contemporary King + Duke, with talented Chef Joe Schafer heading the kitchen.

Full bar. Serving lunch Mon-Fri, dinner nightly. "What can I say? It is uncanny how Ford Fry continues to roll out universally appealing restaurants. And though he won’t be containing his efforts to Buckhead (he also has a “Mex-Tex” cantina on the docket for Inman Park’s anticipated Krog Street Market and a Mexican-themed project in Alpharetta’s forthcoming Avalon development), his approach to restaurants gives the community some needed grounding. May other Buckhead restaurateurs take heed."
— Bill Addison, Atlanta magazine, September 2013 (**)

"Where The Optimist celebrates great seafood, King + Duke (named after two grifters in Adventures of Huckleberry Finn) is all about executive chef Joe Schafer and Fry cooking over a hickory-wood fire on a twenty-four-foot hearth. The roasted carrots and beets with sheep's-milk feta transport you to a field (in a good way). The fire torches a candy crust on succulent lamb belly served with sheep's-milk feta, and sweet fire-roasted lobster is heightened simply by baby bok choy, garlic, and chiles."
— John Mariani, Esquire, The Best New Restaurants 2013
