A retro 1950s theme is apparent inside and out at the OK Cafe, open since 1987, where there are no worries and everything is OK, as the diner's motto decrees. From white and red stripes atop the building, to spinning barstools, to the checkered floor and servers in '50s-style garb, this not-so-traditional traditional diner serves everything from Coke floats to OK power shakes with wheat germ and vegetable protein powder. For breakfast, try cereals with your choice of whole, skim or soy milk; griddle cakes; French toast; or one of the many egg dishes. The chicken salad platter with potato and cucumber salads or any of the burgers or hot cheese, fish or chicken sandwiches are perfect for lunch or dinner. But there are also blue plate specials such as the crab and crawfish cakes or meat loaf with Creole sauce, all served with two vegetables and a corn muffin.
