With various charts, books and academic bric-a-brac scattered throughout the place, Thinking Man Tavern remains one of Decatur's most beloved neighborhood bars for drinkin' and thinkin' types. Beer-friendly bites include deviled eggs, fried okra and pork tacos, while bourbon fried chicken, grilled hanger steak and a wide variety of creative burgers round out the menu. 
"Decorated with posters of the periodic table, planet factoids, and musculoskeletal charts, Thinking Man Tavern feeds the mind as well as the body. Get a pitcher of Starving Artist beer (the cheap beer of the evening) to go with the half-pound juicy burger on a buttered, toasted roll or the eggplant parmesan sandwich you need a knife and fork to eat."
