Korea House Restaurant and Sushi Bar

Average Cost: $$

Phone: 512-458-2477

Categories: Korean , Sushi

Features: Handicap Access , Smoke Free , Vegetarian Friendly , Kid Friendly

Tucked away in a scenic courtyard garden in the busy Village Shopping Center, Korea House is a local favorite for sushi connoisseurs as well as for purists who prefer more traditional Korean fare. Eel is a house specialty, including the Mexican Orgasm sushi roll with eel and fresh avocado slices or the rice bowl with eel and a spicy red sauce. Sushi is often served in lieu of appetizers, followed by authentic Korean dishes, which include the entrée, a bowl of steamed white rice, clear soup and a selection of small side dishes. The ever-popular beef bulgogi, thinly sliced beef in a slightly sweet barbecue sauce, comes with rice and other side dishes including bean sprouts, tofu, potatoes and kimchee. Alas, there is no dessert menu, but ice cream is available for those seeking a cool finish to a spicy meal. "Korea House has led the Korean food movement in Austin since the '70s, and their quality has remained consistently high."
- The Austin Chronicle
Beer and wine available. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
