When you step into highly acclaimed veteran chef/owner Alan Lazarus’ Vespaio and its next door casual offspring Enoteca Vespaio, there’s little doubt you’ve entered an authentic Italian eatery. This beloved Austin culinary destination is hip enough for the trendy, while catering to families as well. The impeccably trained staff is knowledgeable about food and wine pairings, occasionally offering samples of the bar’s extensive wine list, with more than 30 varieties available by the glass. Just as impressive as the wine selection is Vespaio’s authentic menu—think daily risottos, Toscana pizzas and veal ravioli—with much of the daily fare provided by the restaurant’s own garden.
