Since 1945, Hyde Park neighborhood fixture The Echo Restaurant has been serving some of Cincinnati's best all-day breakfasts as well as home-style lunches and dinners — a little bit of home cooking without going home. You gotta love a place that boasts waitresses who have worked there for more than 30 years and that proudly offers Jell-O on the menu and powdered sugar upon request to top the excellent pancakes, waffles and French toast. Other breakfast highlights include eggs Benedict, the Hyde Parker omelet (mozzarella, fresh spinach and tomatoes), and oatmeal with apples, raisins and cinnamon. Lunch options include hot, open-faced roast beef, turkey or meat loaf sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy as well as house-made chicken, tuna, ham or egg salad sandwiches. Among customers’ dinner favorites are meat loaf, baked or fried cod and daily specials such as chicken croquettes, salmon patties and pan-fried chicken. The shakes and malts are much recommended, as is the snowball (vanilla ice cream rolled in toasted coconut and drizzled with house-made chocolate sauce) for dessert.
"This
is a comfort food kind of place. You know, the spot that comes to mind
when you want the kind of meat loaf and mashed potatoes Mom used to
make. Or when that craving for real apple pie just won’t be denied."

Kids' menu. Full bar. Serving breakfast and lunch daily, dinner Thu–Sat.
