The wait for the Sunday brunch buffet can be more than an hour at Grand Finale, a steak house and American restaurant that has become the place to be on Sundays in Cincinnati. Grand Finale, named for the eatery's famed desserts, is housed in a circa-1895 Victorian structure that restaurant owners Larry and Cindy Youse selected after driving past it in the Gaslight District of the historic neighborhood of Glendale. Diners are seated at mismatched, antique wooden chairs and tables throughout the dining rooms. Dinner entrées feature steak, seafood, crêpes, rack of lamb and those unbelievable desserts (red raspberries and white chocolate mousse, warm mixed berry cobbler or cherries jubilee among them.) Then there's the Sunday brunch. You'll choose a juice and then hit the buffet. How about a crêpe filled with delectables such as crab, scallops and vegetables? Or maybe you'd prefer poached eggs and artichokes, quiche, sliced smoked ham, fried chicken livers, bread pudding, blueberry pancakes, Belgian waffles, biscuits with sausage gravy, cheese and garlic grits or cinnamon rolls.
"Once
you get hooked [on brunch], head back for fun appetizers such as the
three-soup sampler, favorite dishes such as chicken ginger and
delectable desserts such as the 'cheesecake, cheesecake, cheesecake'
platter."
