Substitute the Ohio River for the mighty Mississippi and you might be able to picture the New Orleans theme and menu at Dee Felice Cafe, across the Ohio River from Cincinnati in Covington, Ky. Cincinnati has repeatedly tried to entice the family-run eatery to move across the river, but it has remained in the same spot since the late jazz drummer Dee Felice opened it in 1984 in the Euro-themed MainStrasse Village. Felice's passion for music has translated into live jazz bands playing on a stage above the bar nearly every night. Delivered by servers dressed in vests and ties, the fare includes steaks, pasta, chicken, fish and Cajun specialties. Menu favorites include blackened pork chops, blackened halibut, gumbo and jambalaya. For dessert, try the flourless chocolate cake with whipped cream.

"Even if you’ve come to eat and aren’t intent on the music, the jazz creates a rich, soulful atmosphere unique to Dee Felice."
-- The Cincinnati Enquirer

Live jazz and swing music Tue–Sat. Reservations suggested. Full bar. Serving dinner nightly.
