Open since 1923, Chef’s Restaurant offers great Italian food in a casual family atmosphere. Family-run since 1954, it retains a retro feel with its red-and-white checked tablecloths and unpretentious menu. Staple starters include fried ravioli and the local favorite, sweet Palermo peppers stuffed with sausage, pepperoni, salami and cheese. The Spano Special (rigatoni with ricotta and meat sauce) and the Irv Special (spiral pasta with sautéed mushrooms, pepperoncini and onions) remain pasta favorites when available. Dishes such as veal cacciatore and chicken-broccoli Alfredo may also be offered occasionally.
Kids' menu. Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner Mon–Sat. Closed Sun.

"Chef's reputation rests firmly on its basic sauce, tangy and full bodied with the moderate sweetness of thyme and tomatoes."
