Best Tex-Mex

The crowd at Cactus Pear’s original Jefferson Avenue location is usually an eclectic mix of students, families and Gaslight District regulars, and they all fill the large booths quickly. Mingle with the jovial multitude amid the lively notes of Mexican music playing in the background and local artwork hanging on the walls. After perusing the menu as you snack on chips served with Cactus Pear's signature house-made tomato roasted salsa, sample the specialty Tijuana quesadilla stuffed with artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, smoked turkey, cheese and chipotle peppers. The menu offers a variety of Americanized, south-of-the-border favorites, including grilled chicken nacho salad, enchiladas and a variety of fajitas with an assortment of meats.

"... consistently good Tex-Mex cuisine and service, great outdoor dining and some of the strongest margaritas and mojitos known to humankind."
— Heather Smith, City Beat, Aug. 5, 2009

Full bar. Serving lunch Mon–Fri, dinner nightly.
