Features: Full Bar , Handicap Access , Kid Friendly , Smoke Free , Vegetarian Friendly

With his self-titled Jasper White's Summer Shack, White was one of the first chefs to elevate regional New England food to fine-dining status. Before opening the Summer Shack in 2000, White was best known for his groundbreaking fine-dining restaurant, Jasper's, which he operated on Boston's waterfront for 12 years. The author of three cookbooks, including one called "50 Chowders," this chef knows New England cooking inside and out. The original Alewife spot is a big, boisterous place, where large groups can congregate for birthdays or office parties, tie on a bib, and get down to cracking some lobster claws. The clam chowder is top-notch, creamy and full of potatoes and clams, and the nightly fish specials are super-fresh and well cooked. Desserts, including whoopie pies, are homey and good, and they back up the restaurant's motto that "Food is Love."

Kids' menu. Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily.

"Jasper White's barn-size, fun-loving seafood restaurant feels like a combination clambake, roadside diner, and family reunion, serving up fresh, simple fish and shellfish to please just about everybody." - Boston magazine
