Categories: Global/Eclectic

From the restaurant's website:

"We prefer not to typecast or label the style of cooking you’ll experience at the restaurant, but it is founded upon contemporary European techniques and South Africa’s finest seasonal produce. Our cuisine is complemented by a small and ever evolving selection of boutique South African wine estates and leading French châteaux. ... The main dining area of the restaurant upstairs offers seating for some 70 guests, most of which offers a view of our team of chefs preparing and plating the dishes on order. Tables on the wraparound balcony are slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the kitchen, but offer views of cosmopolitan Cape Town on the street level below."

Reservations required. Full bar. Serving lunch Wed–Fri, dinner Mon–Sat. Closed Sun.

"Though the nighttime views are lovely at this spare, modern 80-seat restaurant (set on the second floor of a Victorian, it has a glass-enclosed dining room that looks over twinkling city lights), the real eye candy here is culinary. In the restaurant's open kitchen, Scottish chef George Jardine and his staff create dazzling dishes that fuse classic French sensibility and New World whimsy, like 12-hour-braised ox-cheek and scallop bordelaise. ...
