DETAILS
Pre-Prohibition cocktails — meaning this is a vodka-free zone — rule the remarkable concoctions at The Gin Joint, which also offers a short but satisfying contemporary bar eats menu to accompany. Full bar. Serving dinner and bar snacks until late night Mon-Sat. Sun breakfast/brunch 11 am-3 pm. "The creation of husband and wife team Joe and MariElena Raya, The Gin Joint is heaven for serious cocktail geeks and a pretty good spot for adventurous eaters, too. Behind the bar, Joe shakes up pre-Prohibition cocktails with an eye toward the historical. The lineup of fizzes, slings, smashes, and sours - the tangy Absinthe Sour with Bolivar bitters, a foamy New Orleans Fizz, and the potent Bittered Holland Sling - are tastes straight from the Gilded Age, and there's a deep slate of expensive scotches, bourbons, and rums for slow sipping. MariElena makes all the food from scratch, and it's designed for cocktail-hour grazing."
