"The Flatiron's rootsy New Orleans side shows — as does its urban and urbane hipster vibe — on the oval platter containing its Black and Bleu Steak Salad. The foundation is a pile of fresh mesclun lettuces doused with a tart balsamic dressing. That base gets decorated with blots of blue cheese, deeply sauteed onion slices, plenty of red peppers and, of course, the meal's showpiece beef."
