"Not just another coffee house" is its slogan, and Café Brazil lives up to it as a Dallas staple for late-night eats, bottomless cups of coffee and many a college student's all-nighter. With a handful of locations throughout the DFW metroplex, this quirky local favorite lingers somewhere between bohemian java joint and upscale diner. Southwestern, Brazilian and slightly French-inspired fare is available any time of day. The Brazilian breakfast (two eggs over easy and a spicy, cheddar empanada) and fruit-topped French toast remain stalwarts, while build-your-own omelets and crêpes offer more than two dozen veggies, meats and cheeses as fillings. Rosemary potatoes accompany an extensive list of gourmet quesadillas, sandwiches, salads and tacos. Vegetarians find plenty of options, as well, and the from-scratch desserts via Café Brazil's bakery are sure to satisfy the sweet tooth.

"A Dallas institution. Omelets and their fillings are extraordinary; so are the veggie sandwich, French toast and empanadas, to say nothing of the coffee."
