Fly Trap, The

ADDRESS: 22950 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220

CUISINE: Breakfast, Brunch, Diner, Burgers, Sandwiches

FEATURES: Handicap Access, Kid Friendly, Smoke Free, Vegetarian Friendly

DETAILS
This "finer diner" in Ferndale serves its "blunch" all day (the whole menu is always available) and was recently featured on Guy Fieri's popular Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. This ain't your father's diner food though, with unique breakfast dishes such as crab cakes and eggs, the Red Flannel Hash (with spicy brisket, potatoes and beets), and their poblano pesto-laden Green Eggs and Ham. No alcohol available. Serving breakfast/brunch and lunch Tue-Sun, dinner Tue-Fri. Closed Mon. From Molly Abraham, The Detroit News:
"Don't be put off by the name. The Fly Trap is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the more modest predecessor that filled the space for some 54 years before this snappy contemporary version of a diner came along. While the theme is American diner, it's the New American approach with Asian, Italian and African touches."

"Its updated menu offers sandwiches, salads, pastas, and omelets, which are served all day, along with old-fashioned milk shakes and root-beer floats. They call it 'blunch.'"
