DETAILS
Since its humble beginnings in 1971, Louisiana Creole Gumbo has been specializing in Southern alternatives to fast-food burgers and fries. At its busiest during lunch and for late-night meals, the eatery is a mix of Cajun restaurant and fast-food joint. Patrons order through a plexiglas window, and either carry out their orders or sit on the limited-seating patio. Pints, quarts and half-gallon containers of seafood gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans and rice are the staples of Louisiana Creole Gumbo. If it's Cajun and can be sold in a bucket, they have it. Nearly all selections are available with spicy or mild seasonings: chicken, fish, beef or vegetarian-friendly. Most customers walk away with some crumbly, Southern-style cornbread. No alcohol available. Serving lunch and dinner daily. "Really knows how to turn up the heat."
