The Chimney House in downtown Fort Lauderdale finally debuted in late 2012, a restaurant six years in the making. Tapas, various ceviches and salads top the menu, while entrees drawing from Latin America and Spain may include churraco chimichurri, turkey meatloaf and paella. Beer and wine available. Serving lunch and dinner Tue-Sat. Sun brunch 9 am-4 pm. Closed Mon. From the restaurant's website:
"We are a Latin American Grill & Cafe in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, just west of the Broward Center for Performing Arts in the historic neighborhood of Sailboat Bend. The restaurant is in a remodeled 1924 historic house with its original restored 'chimney'. ... Our menu showcases some of the best dishes of South America and Spain and our offerings range from tapas such as mussels in white wine with Spanish chorizo to churrasco chimichurri to arroz marinero (our version of a paella)."

"The menu is a fairly priced study of classic Spanish and Latin American dishes, with some oddly composed American items. Such a menu seems possible only in South Florida's melting pot."
