A South Florida institution since 1977, Hot Dog Heaven remains the favorite old-fashioned wiener emporium that it has always been, still family owned and operated. Locals constantly pack this Sunrise Boulevard spot for pre-beach bites, a late-afternoon snack, or just a photo op with the life-sized hot dog angel out back. Although burgers and a few other quick eats are available as well, the reason to go is undoubtedly the Chicago-style Vienna Beef dogs, done up just about any way you can imagine. Hot peppers, onions, tomatoes, mustard and relish — the fixings evoke the Chicago Cubs Wrigleyville neighborhood. Every order comes with a serving of some of the area’s favorite fries, and just a few dimes more will get you toppings of sauerkraut, chili, cheese or slaw. The best part may be that a full meal won’t run you more than a few bucks.
Cash only. No alcohol available. Serving lunch 10 am–4:30 pm Mon–Sat. Closed Sun.
"Most Chicago-style hot dogs served elsewhere than Chicago just don't get it 100 percent right. Wrong bun, dull relish, local dog. Hot Dog Heaven serves a genuine Chicago Dog. ..."
