Each of the tiny, no-frills restaurants boasts counter-style service and charbroiled burgers made from beef cut and ground twice daily on the premises. Whether a half- or third-pound patty is your style, the juicy burger sits in the middle of a fresh bun and can be topped with a number of condiments, including several of Jack's signature relishes. Tomatoes, lettuce, grilled peppers, onions and chili, on the other hand, will cost you a few dimes extra. Crispy, brown fries prove an unquestionably necessary sidekick, as does one of the super-thick shakes that almost always requires a spoon.
