A spinoff of owner Andy Marshall's popular Puckett's nightclubs/Southern home-style dining spots in downtown Franklin and Nashville, Puckett's Boat House emphasizes fresh Gulf seafood and bar and grill standards at the former Main Street Franklin location of Route 31 Cafe. With Guadalajara, Mexico, native Chef Carlos Garcia adding his expert touch to fish tacos, the Puckett's list of specialties includes oysters on the half shell, shrimp and grits, hush puppies, Sandestin salad, gumbo, coconut shrimp, hot chicken sandwich, salmon burger, Stone Mountain tilapia and chicken-fried chicken. Key Lime pie heads the dessert lineup. Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Sat-Sun brunch 9 am-1 pm. "It's hard to put a finger on why this hybrid oyster bar/bait shop/music venue recalls the ease of a seaside crab shack, when it sits two blocks off the square in landlocked Franklin."
