From the restaurant's website:"Palate is wine-centric, passionate, and down-to-earth. Palate is a restaurant, a wine merchant, a cheese cellar, a tasting bar and lounge, and an eno-gastronomic library occupying the ground floor of a seven-story Bekins moving depot (circa 1928) turned wine-storage vault. ... Cuisine that is simple and sophisticated, robust and nuanced, infused with a Mediterranean sensibility and made with the best local and artisanal ingredients. Married with a cellar stocked with handmade, regional wines at near-retail prices in an airy, inviting space. Offering a vast selection of wines by the glass."

Full bar. Serving lunch Fri-Sat, dinner daily in the restaurant. Lunch and dinner daily in the wine tasting bar.

"The most exciting and delicious new restaurant to open in a very long time."

- S. Irene Virbila, Los Angeles Times, Aug. 13, 2008 (three stars)

"An opium dream of a restaurant."- Jonathan Gold, LA Weekly
