Favorite specialties at Red Wing Restaurant can include the Hunters Platter, with quail, fried venison and game sausage.
From the restaurant's website:"The Red Wing Restaurant was built back in the 1940s by Charles McMillan. The restaurant was built as a house where they lived. ... The wooden building faced in stone has been a popular gathering place for locals since 1948. If the walls could talk they just might give you the history of Groveland. Upon entering, there is a bar with paneled walls with stuffed birds and animals hanging on the walls. Off to the left is the Pheasant Room and to the right the Boar Room, which [feels like] an old hunting lodge. The menu is unique, to say the least. We offer a wide variety of hand-cut steaks, fresh fish and game meat. Our customers tell us that we have the best cobbler and burgers in town."
Beer and wine available. Serving breakfast 8-11:30 am Sat-Sun, lunch daily, dinner Mon-Sat.
"[A] terrific little spot. ... If you're looking for 'old Florida,' you can't get much older than Red Wing Restaurant."
