The boisterous but refined locations of Latin American steak houses Churrascos are among the most popular restaurants in Houston. Rooms have a chic, Latin ambience with warm colors and earthy textures. The signature Churrasco steak, a tender and flavorful grilled tenderloin, is excellent. But other dishes, such as Key lime-sauced pork tenderloin and plantain-encrusted chicken, shine as well. The copious and complimentary plantain chips and the Argentine chimichurri sauce are hallmarks, as is Churrascos’ luscious version of the tres leches cake, one of Houston’s favorite desserts. Sunday brunch menus include eggs with chorizo and torrejas (the South American version of French toast), with specials on various cocktails and sangria.

Full bar. Serving lunch Mon-Sat, dinner nightly. Sun brunch 10:30 am-3 pm. "The vegetable side dishes that accompany entrées are innovative and rich with smoky flavor: snappy grilled yellow squash, zucchini and potatoes, along with garlic spinach, sautéed mushrooms and fried yucca."
