Warm and welcoming, Joseph's Italian Restaurant carries on the legacy of tried-and-true Italian pasta dishes, pizzas and sub sandwiches through its second generation of family owners. Since the death of founder Joseph Bateh in 2000, daughters Susie Bateh and Sandra Hanania have maintained and expanded the operation, adding a location in 2004 on Atlantic Beach in addition to the original Main Street location (1969) while adding subs and whole-wheat pizza crusts to the menu. Start with bruschetta, a bowl of Italian wedding soup or an oversized salad. Pasta and entrée specialties include lasagna, shrimp scampi, eggplant or chicken Parmesan, and veal Marsala. Baked in stone ovens, pizzas come in either double-baked gourmet thin-crust (try the Venice with roasted garlic, shrimp, goat cheese and mozzarella) or New York style. House-made meatballs or Italian sausage top the plentiful sandwich choices. Try cannoli or tiramisu for dessert.
Kids' menu. Beer and wine available. Serving lunch and dinner Tue–Sun.
"One thing is clear: If you leave Joseph's Italian Restaurant hungry, you must have a glandular condition that needs attention."
