From the top-selling sweet-and-spicy General Tso’s chicken to the
specialty whole flounder in either a garlic-chile or scallion-ginger
sauce, owners Richard "Bo" and Theresa "Far Ling" Ng have been
delivering the most authentic and creative Chinese cuisine in town for
the past 25 years. The Bo Lings extensive list of appetizers, soups,
poultry, shrimp, pork, beef, vegetables, tofu, noodles, rice and
sizzling dishes have helped the restaurant earn the unofficial
distinction of "Where the Chinese Immigrants Eat to Get a Taste of
Home." Popular dishes include dumplings, lettuce wraps, Mandarin
chicken, orange peel shrimp and pad thai noodles with shrimp. The
restaurant uses no MSG or other flavor enhancers and makes all its own
dishes, sauces and pancakes from scratch. Adventurous eaters have discovered the
daily selected dim sum at the City Market location and the dim sum
offered Saturdays and Sundays at the Plaza and Metcalf locations.
Rather than order off a menu, diners choose small plates of dumplings,
buns, meats, vegetables and desserts from carts rolled through the
dining room. Diners typically choose four or five small plates apiece
and share with others in their group. The waitstaff will keep the
teapot at your table full or bring you a colorful, fruity bubble tea.
Kids' menu. Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Dim sum served 11 am–3 pm daily.
"The Bo Lings menu is constantly changing, offering something delicious for every palate."
