Best Diner

Retro, family-friendly diner by day and cozy rendezvous for canoodling couples by night, the iconic Peppermill Coffee Shop and adjoining Fireside Lounge have set the scene for several Hollywood hits, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Order from the restaurant’s 24-hour breakfast menu or the exotic martini list: The seeming incongruence of this Vegas classic doesn’t bother the carefree clientele — particularly those snuggling in the dark booths — who seem to live by the motto, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." The kids sit quietly for a moment and lovebirds come up for air when high stacks of pancakes, enormous omelets or decadent versions of French toast arrive. Burgers, pastas and steaks round out the dinner menu, but a banana split with two whole bananas is a winner any time.

Kids' menu. Full bar. Open 24 hours daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

"There’s the Scarlett O’Hara-Meets-The Jetsons decor, to start, but also massive omelets such as the Lorraine; gargantuan salads, such as fresh fruit served in a fresh pineapple boat; half-pound burgers and even steaks."
