DETAILS

Situated in a working-class, urban Louisville neighborhood, and with another location in Jeffersonville, Ind., this unpretentious, ultra-casual little dive (in the best sense of the word) bar and restaurant serves up hearty, Chicago-style Italian fare at inexpensive prices. The signature Italian beef sandwich features tender sliced beef stacked high on a hoagie bun; you’ll need a fork to eat it. Start your meal with the fried antipasto won tons stuffed with cheeses and prosciutto or a house-made soup such as traditional Italian Wedding. And of course there’s a range of pastas, with meatballs that would make Mama proud. The house-made red sauce is so good, you’ll probably want to order extra to dip a breadstick in — or take a bottle of it home with you. The pizzas topped with four cheeses are also excellent.

Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner Tue–Sat. Closed Sun-Mon.
