THIS RESTAURANT CLOSED JANUARY 2013Cross a funky diner with Pee-wee’s Playhouse, and you might end up with something like Lynn’s Paradise Cafe. With concrete animal statues outside and an interior characterized by "ugly lamps," brightly colored booths and a heavily decorated tree, this café is the brainchild of owner Lynn Winter, a Louisville native whose overactive imagination permeates every nook and cranny. The food is about the only thing they take seriously here. Lynn’s is famed for its bountiful breakfasts — biscuits and gravy, huge omelets, French toast, and cheese grits — that are served all day long. There’s also plenty of hearty comfort food like macaroni and cheese and roast turkey with cranberry sauce. "Lynn's developed its reputation as the place to get a breakfast so big that you wouldn't need to eat for a day or two."
