Best Japanese/Sushi

Dig into sushi rolls at Matsuri such as American Idol, Make My Day, Red Scorpion and the 1163.

From Miami New Times:

"Opened in 1988, this suburban strip-mall sushi spot has little in the way of ambience. ... But Miami’s Japanese residents, as well as others in the know, continue to pack the place for South Beach-quality sushi at ultra-bargain prices. As well as an extensive selection of raw seafood specialties (including otoro, top-quality fatty tuna — the Kobe beef of the undersea world), the little place does elegant versions of common cooked Japanese dishes, like near-greaseless tempura."

Beer, wine and sake available. Serving lunch Tue–Fri, dinner Tue–Sun. Closed Mon.

"The menu’s house specialties will make you giggle, with names like “Mr. Bush’s 3 p.m.” (the surprise is a pretzel) and “Mickey’s Great Adventure in Florida”, but the real attention-getters are the plates that show off the fish on its own; the nigiri, chirashi and sashimi won’t let you down."
