Just getting better with age and with chef Jarvis Williams in the kitchen downtown's Carnevor captured several local Best New Restaurant awards since its splashy debut.

"I've balked at listing SURG's rock 'n' roll steakhouse; at the prices it charges ($55 for a bone-in, 16-ounce filet - and that's a la carte!), I expected more pleasure than I got. But Carnevor has stepped up its game. The shareable pork ravioli appetizer in smoked-onion pork jus, garnished with pork belly and pea shoots — well, it was pretty fantastic."
