DESCRIPTION
Don't be alarmed by the chain link fence surrounding East Nashville's Edgefield Sports Bar & Grill. You don't want your vehicle driving off by itself, do you? Do be alarmed by the calorie count of Edgefield's bacon cheeseburger, a sloppy, decadent two-hander with a kickin' horseradish sauce that deserves much acclaim. Although it's easy to forget your worries in a welcoming working-class neighborhood joint that offers a wall of dartboards, a couple of pool tables, lots of TV sets tuned to sports, and some of the area's best bar food. Home-style meat-and-three plates churn from the open kitchen during weekday lunches, with daily specials that include fried chicken, liver and onions, and chicken-fried steak, with a number of sides. Extra credit goes to the excellent chicken fingers, onion rings and crinkle-cut fries, which come in orders big enough for two average appetites, as well as surprisingly satisfying salads topped by house-made dressings. A great jukebox and some of the East Side's cheapest draft beer make it all the more endearing.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Age-21-and-over admission since smoking is allowed. Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Late-night Mon-Sat.
