One of the latest in a growing list of local craft brewing operations, East Nashville's Fat Bottom Brewing also boasts a taproom and beer garden that offers a short but sweet menu that has included: charcuterie and cheese boards, deviled eggs, duck confit quesadilla, Caprese salad, bangers and champ mash with gravy, and a cured salmon BLT. Proprietor Ben Bredesen, son of the former Tennessee governor and Nashville mayor, located the operation on the site of a former Fluffo mattress warehouse. Beer varieties have included the Ginger American wheat, the Ruby Red American ale and Black Bettie India Black Ale. Beer available. Open for dinner 4-10 pm Tue-Fri, noon-10 pm Sat. Closed Sun-Mon. "The food is worthwhile. Bredesen brought on chef Christopher Haston (formerly of mAmbu) to create Fat Bottom’s menu, a concise but well-executed assembly of bites and plates in the pub tradition: bold foods to match the beer. House-made mustards and aiolis, pickled vegetables, house-cured meats and locally sourced ingredients are highlighted in the composition of the dishes."
