Brooklyn transplant Joey Macca, whose older brother Manny owns and operates the longtime Nashville favorite House of Pizza in downtown's Arcade, cranks out fabulous New York-style pizza in his own right at Joey's House of Pizza. Reopened on Nashville's Elm Hill Pike in November 2011 after many successful years in suburban Brentwood, and with another location in Spring Hill, Joey's specializes in thin-crust, New York-style pizza - folding encouraged - although the thick-crust Sicilian soars above any other thick variety in the area. Hungry patrons line up cafeteria style to lunch on salads, sturdy pastas (baked zita, lasagna, eggplant or chicken Parm, spaghetti with meatballs), calzones, pizza rolls and stromboli, Italian subs, and minestrone soup. Portions are substantial, so count on leftovers. Beer available. Serving lunch 11 am–3 pm Mon–Fri. Closed Sat–Sun.
