Wild and woolly cocktails such as the mint-strewn Cuban rum favorite mojito give trendy West End Avenue hangout Rumba its name and calling card. But the globally influenced food menu also ranks among the most diverse in Nashville. Entrées are imaginatively prepared and include daily fish specials, but Rumba's food is best exemplified by the appetizers and small plates. The satays — marinated and skewered meat, shrimp or portabella mushrooms — can be dipped in three different sauces. Naan, which are Indianstyle flatbreads, are fine starters, particularly the cheesestuffed variety with roasted red peppers or topped with hummus or roasted garlic purée. The restaurant has a great patio, and the candlelit booths also make it an intimate — albeit noisy — dining experience.
Full bar. Serving dinner and late-night nightly. Sun brunch 10 am–3 pm.
