Rumours (CLOSED)

2304 12th Ave S
Nashville, TN 37204

Average Cost: $$

Phone: 615-292-9400

Categories: Small Plates, Contemporary, Wine Bar

Features:

THIS RESTAURANT CLOSED FEBRUARY 2012
The rapidly gentrifying 12 South neighborhood got livelier with instantly popular Rumours Wine and Art Bar upon its 2005 debut from founders Christy Shuff and Whitney Ferre. Seating on the outdoor decks fills up quickly when the weather's nice. Inside, you get the feeling you're dining in an art gallery at a mountain ski resort, only without the mountains. The wine list is extensive, as you can imagine given it's a wine bar. The food menu is written on a chalkboard and offers just a few well-chosen and nicely prepared appetizers, salads and small-plate entrées, but the quality and quantity shouldn't leave anyone dissatisfied. Recommendations include the artisan cheese plate (paying extra for the Greek olives is worth it) and the crab cakes, fat with crab meat and among the city's best. For those who just don't do wine, a few bottled craft beers are also offered.

Beer and wine available. Serving dinner until late-night Mon–Sat. Closed Sun.
