Reopened in fall 2011 nearly a year after a devastating fire, F. Scott's spin-off Table 3 has picked up where it left off as one of the go-to independent restaurants amid the chains of the Green Hills mall area. This also is as close to a true French-style bistro-brasserie as Nashville gets. Talented chef and co-owner Will Uhlhorn, formerly of F. Scott's, heads a very consistent kitchen. Specialties include classic brasserie dishes such as onion soup gratinee, mussels, steak tartare, crispy duck confit, Nicoise salad and herb- and Dijon-roasted chicken. Burgers and flatbread pizzas also stand out, as do the daily blue plate specials. This time around, Table 3 also has built out an adjoining space for a market with fresh breads, pastries, sandwiches and prepared entrees and sides to go. "We also recommend the croque madame and trout filet served with local Benton's bacon and haricots verts. Keep an eye on the blue plate special of the day, which could be duck à l'orange, bouillabaisse or coq au vin."
