Baoguette

Average Cost: $

Phone: 212-929-0877

Categories: Vietnamese , Sandwiches

Features: Handicap Access , Kid Friendly , Smoke Free , Vegetarian Friendly

Baoguette delivers the gastronomic goods for classic Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches, summer rolls, sticky rice, noodle dishes and Vietnamese hot or iced coffee.  From Robin Raisfeld and Rob Patronite, New York magazine:
"... the intriguingly wacky-sounding Spicy Red Curry Corned Beef sandwich with caramelized onions and pickled jalapeños served on a baguette-or "baogette," if you prefer. The rest of the Vietnamese sandwiches (pork, catfish, and barbecued chicken) are more traditional. ... "

"It's hard to improve on the already beloved banh mi sandwich, but at Baoguette, Michael Hyunh (of BarBao) manages to do exactly that. In this tiny storefront space, they serve more than just a classic sandwich, though the original is the best place to start."
- Gayot

Zagat 2013: 22 food rating (very good to excellent)
The Village Voice: Recommended No alcohol available. Serving lunch Mon-Sat, early dinner Mon-Fri. Closed Sun.
