DETAILS
Pat Martin's namesake, award-winning Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint draws crowds from near and far in the growing but still bucolic Williamson County town of Nolensville. Stars of the show: well-executed, whole hog barbecued pork (smoked 22 hours), ribs, brisket, wings and turkey, all slow-cooked over hickory and apple wood. "Redneck" barbecue tacos, burgers and dogs are other options. Spicy baked beans, excellent slaw, hand-cut fries and cornbread are among the sides, with house-made pies awaiting for dessert. The drive-through window gets a workout. Kids' menu and vintage soda brands among the drink offerings. Beer available, with a nice selection of craft beers on draft. Serving lunch and dinner daily. "The measure of a good barbecue place is in the straight-up, un-sauced product, and Martin's excels on this count."
- Gayot
