Humble Pie

919-829-9222  •  $$
ADDRESS: 317 S Harrington St , Raleigh, NC 37603
CUISINE: Small Plates, Contemporary, Brunch, Late-Night Dining
FEATURES: Full Bar, Handicap Access, Kid Friendly, Patio Seating, Smoke Free, Vegetarian Friendly
DETAILS

It may hail from modest beginnings, but Humble Pie has earned a reputation as the best place in town for tapas. Converted from an old warehouse, with a brief stint as a nonconformist music venue, the latest Pie brings a bit of the building's old rebellious spirit. Loud yellow walls, circular booths and brightly hued paintings contrast the original black and white tiled floor; the high ceiling gives the dining room an urban openness that is simultaneously overwhelming and inviting. The wine selection is commendable and attractively priced, and meal portions are generous despite the tapas theme. Try the oven-roasted mahi mahi or the chicken enchiladas. House-made desserts, such as tiramisu and white chocolate scone strawberry shortcake, are a sweet ending to the evening.

Full bar. Serving dinner Tue-Sat. Late-night (until midnight) Fri-Sat. Sun brunch 11 am-2 pm. Closed Mon. "Humble Pie (HP) leaves the most opinionated foodie ... humbled. This place has won my blue ribbon for favorite restaurant in Raleigh. I have visited HP twice now and both times has been superior culinary experiences. Their plates are visually and tastefully brilliant."
