LocalEats Fleur de Lys in San Francisco restaurant pic

Fleur de Lys

777 Sutter St
San Francisco, CA 94109

Average Cost: $$$$

Phone: 415-673-7779

Categories: Contemporary, French

Features: Full Bar, Handicap Access, Smoke Free, Vegetarian Friendly

Many say that Nob Hill’s renowned French gourmet mainstay Fleur de Lys emerged better than ever from a 2001 fire that could have destroyed this local institution. A 10-month rehab restored one of the most romantic dining rooms in San Francisco, making it even more opulent and breathtaking. Chef/co-owner Hubert Keller, a French native and James Beard award winner, appropriately began to renovate his already esteemed menu of complex but enticingly innovative variations on classic French cooking. Three, four or five courses play out in such dishes as pistachio-crusted king salmon, foie gras- and truffle-stuffed roasted squab breast and marinated venison loin.

Full bar. Serving dinner Tue–Sat. Closed Sun–Mon.

Michelin Guide 2011: * (a very good restaurant in its category)

"The extraordinary cooking of chef/owner Hubert Keller, presented by a flawless team of friendly and knowledgeable servers, is exhilarating. There are four prix fixe options (three-, four-, or five-course menus, or a set five-course vegetarian menu)."
