In many ways, Los Gatos Brewing Co. is a classic neighborhood microbrewery. Locals enjoy hanging out and sampling tall glasses of craft beer, and major sports events signal busy nights. LGBC has the feel of a much more formal restaurant. The mahogany and oak woodwork behind the bar was taken from a historic St. Louis brothel. And, according to folklore, President McKinley once stubbed his toe on the marble threshold that hails from the Fillmore Hotel. The menu is sophisticated, too, with starters such as roasted beet salad, oysters on the half shell, and a crab cake served with a tomatillo and avocado salsa. Entrées include the basil pesto pizza, St. Louis-style ribs, Italian squash pancakes and the blackened catfish sandwich on a ciabatta roll. The weekend breakfast/brunch offers eggs Benedict, corned beef hash, pancakes, French toast and a variety of omelets. The bar’s brews include a rotating selection of the brewery’s recipes, such as the ever-popular Pilsner lager, the Sherman Stout and even hard cider.
Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Late-night Fri–Sat. Sat–Sun breakfast/brunch 10 am–2 pm.
"Every popular restaurant of long standing has at least one signature dish it can't take off the menu. At Los Gatos Brewing Co. (hereafter LGBC) that dish is the St. Louis-style pork back ribs. Big and meaty, slathered with a tangy, sweet apple cider-based tomato sauce, they're just the sort of irresistible food an upscale brew pub requires."
