Best Oysters

From the restaurant's website:
"At Hank's Oyster Bar, patrons enjoy coastal favorites and New England beach fare classics like lobster rolls, daily fish specials and meat 'n' two. Lightly fried items such as the popcorn shrimp and calamari and Ipswich clams balance Hank's ice bar options, which consist of a selection of raw oysters, tartar and ceviche. A major neighborhood success since it opened in May 2005. ... Chef [Jamie] Leeds' success is based on her simple, approachable seafood, consisting of small and large plates for sharing."

Full bar. Serving dinner nightly. Late night Fri–Sat. Sat–Sun brunch 11 am–3 pm.

Washington City Paper: Best Seafood, 2011 readers' poll

"As the restaurant name suggests, the food here focuses on the deep blue sea, with only a few steps onto land. And of those land-locked dishes, we're happy to note, Leeds's famed short ribs are on the menu. ... The kitchen, under her direction, handles seafood well, however, and that makes ordering such dishes as the shrimp and scallop appetizer — deep-fried and crispy — with a chipotle dipping sauce pleasurable."
