From
Ron Ruggless of Nation's Restaurant News (www.nrn.com):
BETHLEHEM, Pa.
(April
13,
2009) -
Emeril
Lagasse said he would open a restaurant May 22 in the Sands Casino
Resort Bethlehem here, marking the celebrity chef's 11th restaurant and
his first in the Northeast.
Emeril's Chop House will
serve prime dry-aged beef, a selection of regional and local
ingredients including seasonal produce, artisan cheeses and dairy
products and some “New New Orleans” dishes. The restaurant will have
200 seats and feature a chef's food bar that will seat nine and
semi-private dining areas for 20 to 80 people.
The
Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, which opens next month, is being
developed by Las Vegas Sands Corp. on the site of the former Bethlehem
Steel plant. Lagasse said he sees his new restaurant as “a small step
in the revitalization of this important site in the community.”
Lagasse
already has restaurants in two other Las Vegas Sands properties:
Delmonico Steakhouse at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and Table 10
at The Palazzo Las Vegas. He also has restaurants in New Orleans;
Orlando, Fla.; Miami; and Gulfport, Miss. The restaurants are operated
by Emeril's Homebase in New Orleans.
