If you’re a fan of eating well, or doing well for the community, we’ve got the tasting event for you, as noted chef, Tom Colicchio hosts a “Toast to the Children” on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 from 7:30-10 PM. This large walk-around tasting held at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental (80 Columbus Avenue, NY) will bring together some of New York’s most sought after restaurants such as Craft, Dell'anima, Double Crown, Insieme, The Little Owl, Milk Bar, Per Se, and Public to be accompanied by wines hand selected by sommelier, Paul Greico, of Hearth, Insieme and Terroir.
While you are toasting to the children, there will be toasts made to honor and award food legend and award-winning writer Sheila Lukins and children literacy advocate and owner of Books of Wonder, Peter Glassman. This springtime gathering raises funds for the nonprofit, Children of Bellevue, which acts as an advocate for children and their families within specialty clinics at Bellevue Hospital Center, a cause near to the hearts of both Colicchio and the honorees.
