Free the Hops Oktoberfest, Birmingham, Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009

Free the Hops is proud to present the first-ever Free the Hops Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 19, 2009!

Located in downtown Birmingham on historic Morris Avenue between 21st and 22nd Street, Free the Hops Oktoberfest features German cuisine, live music, and more than 25 German and German-style American-made beers.

Tickets are available for $15, which includes admission to the event and a limited edition "Free the Hops Oktoberfest" 12.5 ounce beer glass. Advance ticket holders will receive 2 beer tasting samples during the event.

Once inside the event, premium beer will be sold for $3 a glass and a limited amount of high gravity beer will be available at $5 per glass.

In order to maximize space and keep lines to a minimum, the event will be held in two separate sessions with a limited number of tickets available. Session I will take place from 12 P.M. to 4 P.M., while Session II will run from 6 P.M. to 10 P.M.

Die Mitternaechters, a German polka and waltz band, will provide live music while establishments such as The J Clyde will be selling authentic German cuisine. The "Rojo Designated Drivers Cafe" will provide free food and non-alcoholic drinks for all designated drivers.

Get your tickets in advance (this event will sell out as capacity is much smaller than the Magic City Brewfest), pull out your Lederhosen, and come down for great beer and brats.
