Executive Chef Tyler Brown leads the kitchen at The Capitol Grille, a dining establishment voted one of America’s best restaurants by Gourmet magazine (2004), featured on The Food Network, acknowledged as one of the best new restaurants in the U.S. by Esquire magazine and recognized at the James Beard House (2005), where the world’s best restaurants and chefs showcase their culinary excellence. Brown became Chef de Cuisine of The Capitol Grille in 2003 under the direction of former Executive Chef Sean Brock (host of Share Our Strength’s A Tasteful Pursuit in Charleston, SC). Tyler now leads the culinary team as Executive Chef and is responsible for managing kitchen staff, developing menus and overseeing the general direction of the restaurant. He is recognized as a leading practitioner of progressive, southern cuisine and a strong supporter of local producers and community organizations.
