Nashville, TN  – LocalEats, a leading iPhone and BlackBerry Storm dining application and creator of popular website WhereTheLocalsEat.com, announced yesterday that it has released its LocalEats app for the Android platform and that it is donating 100% of all its mobile app revenue, until March 1, to the American Red Cross* Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund.

“Some other iPhone app developers have decided to donate to the effort in Haiti, as well,” says company founder Bill King, “and we’re just proud to be part of a mobile software and technology community that can do something like this. The information and the links that have been all over social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook encouraging people to support the relief efforts and the text messaging services that automatically send donations to wonderful agencies have put a real spotlight on the ability of these new technologies to promote help, relief and awareness during times of crisis. And we are happy to do what we can — across all three of our major mobile platforms — to help out in some way, amounting to what we hope will be a sizable contribution to the Red Cross fund for Haiti relief.”

LocalEats will be donating 100% of app revenues to the Red Cross through the end of January and through February. LocalEats’ developers hope that the app’s presence on multiple mobile platforms – including the now available Android version – will allow them to reach more smartphone users and therefore collect more donations. The already popular LocalEats costs 99 cents to download on the Android and iPhone and $2.99 on the BlackBerry Storm.
