CHEF RYAN ADAMS OF SORRENTO GRILLE NAMED HEAD CHEF OF SLOW FOOD ORANGE COUNTY'S 2ND ANNUAL BARBEQUE

Irvine, CA (May 28, 2010) - Chef Ryan Adams of Sorrento Grille Laguna
Beach will be the head chef for Slow Food Orange County’s 2nd Annual
Barbeque (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/112350)
from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 26 at historic Bommer Canyon in
Irvine, California. He has generously donated his time and expertise to
create a bright, fresh menu inspired by old-fashioned fair food.
Highlights include barbequed citrus-marinated free-range chicken, warm
heirloom potato salad and Irvine-grown strawberries spiked with honey.
Chef Adams, born and raised in Orange County, will be assisted by Slow
Food Orange County members and a team of foster kids from Monkey
Business Café, a project of the Hart Community Home that supports youth
with job-training and leadership skills. All proceeds from the event
will support the Monkey Business Café.
The event will also include guest speaker, Jill Richardson, author of
"Recipe for America: Why Our Food System Is Broken and What We Can Do
To Fix It." Live entertainment will be provided by Walden Dahl, known
for the hit songs he has written for bluegrass stars Ralph Stanley and
Alison Krauss. Raffle prizes include gift certificates from Slow
Food-supported local restaurants, tickets to the Pageant of the Masters
including dinner and parking, food and gardening products and gourmet
food baskets.
Tickets for the barbeque are $50.00 per person and $20.00 for children 12 and under. They can be purchased online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/112350.
Ticket price includes dinner and wine. In the spirit of sustainability
and low carbon footprint, guests are asked to bring individual wine
glasses and eating utensils. Plates will be provided. A vegetarian
option is available.
Slow Food Orange County is a local chapter of Slow Food U.S.A. which
works to carry out the Slow Food mission on a local level. The Orange
County convivium is a member-supported organization made up of a
diverse group of food enthusiasts. Members include home and
professional chefs, growers, wine connoisseurs, and lots of ordinary
