Hunters from all over the volunteer state flock to Pulaski each
spring to join in on this exciting hunt. The Counties of Giles,
Lincoln, Lawrence, Marshall, and Maury have some of the highest turkey
populations in the state, and with the help of experienced local
guides, up to 75 hunters try their luck at a great Tennessee tradition
each year.

There
are many community events associated with the hunt. On Friday before
the hunt there is clay target shooting and a turkey shoot. This event
is open to the public, and is a great way to check your sights on your
turkey gun before opening day
Friday night will be a great time
with the guides and hunter's dinner at the Hillcrest Country Club.
There will be food available from 4:30-8:30 so that folks can come eat
early and go roost birds, or come eat after they have put that big bird
to roost. After the dinner, you can go out to Kathy's Tavern and hear
some great tunes from Daryle Singletary. He will perform at Kathy's
Friday Night, and at the Banquet Saturday night at Cardin Distributing.
For more information, contact Kathy's Tavern at 931-363-9289.
On Saturday, the day of the hunt, Pulaski’s square is home to the 5K
Turkey Run and Gobbler’s Gala, where arts and crafts, TWRA booths,
games, calling contests, turkey check-in, live entertainment, and many
other things will be happening.
There is a huge banquet and
concert event on Saturday night of the hunt at Cardin Distributing in
Pulaski where up to 1000 people will eat great local food and hear some
of Nashville’s best entertainers like Daryle Singletary, Jeff Bates,
andy Griggs, Rhett Akins, Kevin Blake Weldon, Gary Morris, the Lo Cash
Cowboys, and Chris Hennessee grace the stage each year. This is a laid
back family event that will be fun for the whole family. It’s an event
you won’t want to miss. Tickets are $25 each and $40 per couple. This
includes a great meal, free door prize chance, and a world class
concert with some of Nashville's finest. To purchase tickets for the banquet/concert, click here.
All
proceeds to the event go to benefit sportsmen and women and the
outdoors we all enjoy in Tennessee. A portion of the proceeds will
benefit local Shooting teams in the 5 county area. Proceeds will also
go to build public gun ranges in Southern Middle Tennessee.
